The idea for this shopping newsletter stemmed from a friend starting a new job after WFH for the past three years. She was finally going into the office…sometimes. After sitting with her clothes for a few years, day in and day out, while raising a toddler, she just wanted something new to get excited about putting on in the morning, and asked me to send her links to five things - any five things - I thought would make getting dressed more fun.
It made me realize. The endless scrolling isn’t fun for everyone, like it is for me. Sometimes you just want to see the good stuff. So here are the first five pieces in a series about what's good out there. What’s worth buying in the sea of stuff.

Toteme belted cardigan It’s balletic, girlish, but without all the fuss of an actual wrap cardigan. The little notch at the bottom also makes it sit better over jeans, something tricky about cardigans, if you don’t want to tuck it in.
Vika Gazinskaya sundress. $170 on theRealReal. I recently went to a Central Park fundraiser and was surrounded by a sea of thousands of floral dresses. It was so overwhelming I decided to start hunting for a fun, summery, printed dress, that was NOT sweet in nature. Here’s the winner. Great length, great shape and still festive for a summer gathering. Or for the office, with the Toteme cardigan above. Just ditch the dress belt if you’re going to go that route.
Toteme frayed hem jeans. Pale blue wash denim for summer, yea yea, we know. But a more thoughtful approach might be a black jean with a frayed hem. It screams summer. It says, I am a bit more dressed than blue jeans, but I’m in a carefree, summer mood. If you are trying to spend less on an unfinished hem, I love this style from Levis - and just cut the hem yourself! This semi-raw hem is a winner too.
Adidas Sambas These have been simmering for a while now both on the cute girls on instagram, and the creative types who need comfy shoes for standing all day in a studio. Great with black pants to make them look less like sad black pants. Great with jeans. Great with a floral summer dress.
The Wild Card: Ok I do not recommend styling this Siedres top just like this. (I mean, if you have the abs, then definitely go for it!) For us humans, how cute is this top/cardigan/conversation starter for summer in the city. Great with the black jeans and Sambas above. Or over a white tank and classic blue wash denim. Also good for a 70s themed kindergarten fundraiser which this aforementioned friend needed a getup for.
