Happiest New Year!
More clothes that fit right. Less panic closet purging. And other things for 2026.
Another year of outfits shared between me and you, my BEST FRIENDS! Thank you all so much for being a part of 5 Things. In 2026 we will enter the fourth year I’ve been with you in your inboxes every single Sunday and I can’t imagine the weekends any other way now, can you!? I’m already busy planning with fresh ideas, new ways to put a spin on old favorites and of course lots and lots of great THINGS.
Until then, I’m signing off and wishing you a happy, healthy new year. I know you have a lot of options out there and I’m sincerely grateful you spend your Sundays with me.
As a little parting fun-tivitiy for this last weekend of 2025, I’m sharing my more/less list. One of my favorite newsletters that I subscribed to this year was Laura Fenton’s Living Small. I appreciate the way she writes about shaping her life and priorities into small, tangible ideas. Her year-end newsletter was a more/less list that sparked a (Five Things/style focused) journal entry for me. So sharing mine here in hopes that the exercise sparks joy for you, too.
MORE:
Be a villager. I saw something (on Instagram, naturally) recently about how everyone wants to be a part of a tight knit community but no one wants to do the work that this entails. So obvious! But then again, the best ideas are. It made me want to show up, in many ways.
Clothes that fit right. I tend to always buy oversized, and I’d like to curb that…slightly.
Side work. Thank you Laura Fenton for this one!
Wearing the thing.
Phoebe Philo. :)
Active research.
Silver.
LESS:
Panic purchases. I’m looking at you TRR countdown clock!
Panic closet purging.
Starting from zero. My mom says she gets to ‘good enough’ faster than me. In reality, she is just less of a perfectionist which helps her do more…living! I get overwhelmed and feel the need to totally start over…often. Working on it, mom.
Shoes.
Saving ideas.
Losing my phone / CC. Guilty!!
Squirming in my outfit.
I’ll leave it at that! Would love to know your more/less list toppers in the comments. See you back here next week.
Yours TRULY,
Becky

Is it unhealthy that I was concerned for a minute that we may not hear from you today? Of course you deserve a break, as do we all, but you have definitely become an anticipated part of my Sunday morning. I'm grateful to be a part of your village. Happy New Year!
I’d like to say thank you for your newsletter - I very much look forward to it every Sunday. You’ve given me some wonderful ideas for putting together outfits.
At age 66, I have closets stuffed full of beautiful clothes and shoes ( I have always subscribed to the philosophy of buying the absolute best quality one can afford. I’m here to tell you, a Mulberry Bayswater sparks joy forever) and realistically could probably go the rest of my life without buying anything new, but what’s the fun in that?
I’m resolving to look to vintage first, and to use my skills to make my own garments before I buy anything new.
