Non-Rain-Shoe Rain Shoes
For when rain boots would be sensible, but you've got an outfit to preserve!
You know what I hate? Being out for the day in weather gear when the weather changes. In my past experience with rain boots (and I say past because I have not donned a pair in at least eight years) my skin would crawl when the sun invariably started shining half way through the day. And there I’d be, warmth on my face, rubber clunkers on my feet. The horror!
This is not to say that rain boots don’t have their place. A run to the drug store, living in a suburban or country setting that affords you an actual garden, the joy of joining in with your toddler on their first puddle jumping adventure.
But for general home-to-office, home-to-meeting or home-to-dinner occasions, the functional footwear is very rarely a necessity. And often can make even the best outfits feel awkward. This week, five ideas that can get you from A to B in April showers, without a galosh in sight!
