The Best Way to Logo is On Your Swimsuit
Thoughts on swim for Summer 2025: Logomania. Sporty trim. Flirty ties. Wraps on wraps on wraps.
Earlier this spring, I hosted a styling event for Versace. While digging through the collection, I spotted a classic cut swimsuit in the brand’s iconic baroque print. Friend of 5 Things Marisa M. and I were giddy over it all night. And I hadn’t stopped thinking about it since. Why was I so enamored with something so visibly branded - not usually my look!? What about it was calling me back?

It was, of course, the unexpected nature of it for me, someone who reads a bit more prep than vamp. But the shape was also right, and the loudness perfect for the throw it all on warm weather identity I have been slowly cultivating this year.
And designer swim is trending. Hello Burberry check in Vogue! I don’t hate the Gucci GG capsule. I’ve been watching Hermes to see if just the right tank will appear in a scarf print. Not no to the Chloe flamingo! And bless whoever’s boobs fit into this Miu Miu tank.
Why is this interesting? Because summer is a time that is usually reserved for straw totes and flip flops and linen from the Gap…the kind that can get watermelon and sunscreen all over it without a care in the world. (Summer is still for this…don’t worry.)
I am a broken record at this point but additionally, the price of designer duds at the moment makes a swimsuit, comparatively speaking, an easier entry point to adding a little fabulousness. It can be a great way to liven up all that Gap linen in a non-formulaic way.
Given all this, I am thinking the best way to designer this summer…is to put it all on your swim. And keep the rest simple. OR! Same same but different…go wild with your pareo and sportify (and simplify) your swim. A few ideas drawn out below. Five for each, naturally.
Fancy Swim, Unfancy Layers
The idea is simple really. Pair a loud, designer swimsuit, with our Esty blockprinted wraps (or something similar). Go about your day by the sea.

Flip It And Reverse It
Or you could go the other route - a simple suit and an extremely fabulous pareo. Balance! Pucci seems to be on fire right now - I can’t turn my head without someone mentioning it…but as a very pale, very conservative beachgoer, the trend is a real stretch for me. However, I loved the deep colors in this one so I decided to take the leap. It’s great fodder for sporty, primary colored swim and she will be great with a vintage tee when it’s time to actually get myself outside. For the swim element, there are unlimited options of solid colored tanks out there so I narrowed down an edit of swim with contrast trim, something we will be seeing a lot more of this summer and next thanks to Miu Miu’s ss25 show.

Or Get Really Girly
Not exactly frilly. But definitely feminine. Something about the right florals, ties, retro cuts, and pastels are really calling me. I want to top it all off with white and lean into a relaxed, oppressively hot Mediterranean energy. Can’t you just imagine all these suits with a great tan. Its a concept that doesn’t make me feel like I haven’t worked out enough…it’s kind of hard to explain, even for me! But its sexy in a way that isn’t harsh - just an embrace of the body’s softness.

Or then again…everything goes with our throw on wild wraps from No.1.

Signing off!
Yours TRULY,
Becky
Love love love and definitely feeling splurgy, but can we talk about the boob support situation on these? Is there built-in support or those thin lululemon-like liners or anything to give a little shape and hold things in a bit? Their websites give zero info on that….
Love this post Becky as I’m
currently on a beach in St Tropez so very appropriate! For the first time ever I’m seeing chic French women in one pieces .. literally nobody ever wears one here, it’s the spiritual home of the bikini. It looks so modern .. esp in a block colour with a printed paréo.
