Thank you for not using AI! I love how unexpected everything you offer is and how much more sense my outfits make after your inspiration.

I love everything you wear, always.

One thing I notice as an older woman is that it becomes harder to pull off the disheveled or worn look. I think because as wrinkles increase, the skin sags, the hair grows wirey with grey, I’ve already achieved well-worn before I even put the clothes on. Then for contrast I find myself wanting smoother fabrics and a bit more structure. I remember Rick Owen’s talking about this in an interview, that he needs structure to counteract his aging body and I was like yes! Me too!

Yes, slouchy, wrinkled feels good on any body, but when we are start that way, the smoothed material offers a better contrast.

Thank you! I love how you also expressed something AI never can: human passion. It shows up in every word, every photo, every article of fabulous clothing that you assemble into creative and awe-inspiring outfits.

A 1,000 percent this! Give me the hand stitching, the patches, the jeans worn out by another human. I want to see the human hand in fashion and in art and all its imperfections 💙

Thank you! We need a sense of hope right now & this is it! Appreciate you very much! 🩷

Absolutely brilliant! Chat GPT never ever everrrrr.

Hooray for the human, in fashion and writing! These softer, more human trends are bringing to mind the NYT’s takedown of S/S ‘26 Paris Fashion Week for the myriad ways in which designers were seen to dehumanize the women for whom they are supposedly designing.

I am reading this in the coziest Peruvian Connection oversized, slightly faded sweatshirt. I realize now why it has become my latest comfort piece. It feels like I have had it forever and fits me, not an online algorithm.

AI is soulless and falls in category of just because you can doesn’t mean you should!

Never ever resort to use AI, I appreciate your work so much as it is. Thank you for brightening my days!

First of all the Calvin’s look great. And I too would be so happy in a funky knit and a lady skirt in Milan!

+1 on noticing, appreciating and -- crucially for the marketplace of it all -- being willing/happy to pay for your personal, thoughtful writing and perspective! It's a bummer for people (not blaming them, just the zeitgeist) to look at something you love and be like, could a machine do that for you?

ALSO, thanks for the note on Jil Sander being a need-to-see-in-person brand! This really resonated with me but I hadn't been able to put my finger on it. Definitely nudging me toward moving to cart a particular item on my wish list.

Lastly, that faded black henley looks so much darker on their site, but seems more (appealingly!) faded in person?

"create surprising or innovative solutions based on an emotional connection" - I think there a so many ppl who prefer to try to believe that ignoring emotions is the only way to success/living -- but that is actually a full failure. a lot of jealousy of the act of creation, missing the pt entirely that it is accessible by anyone, and also not something to be owned or traded. I love how you put it, thank you -- I'm a performer doing a lot of improv, and this is 100% on pt for that work, too.

(also just read Mrs Solomon's response to NY Mag's substack salary / mean girl discussion, and was so lovely to see how she talks abt you - and all of it makes me thankful for women who value what they value, if that makes sense.)

I think in the world we live in today with AI, everyone, designers included are trying to lean into what makes them authentic what makes them different, what makes them so unique that AI cannot replicate them. It’s actually a chance for us all to stand out for our one superpower, our individuality 👏🏼♥️

Thank you for validating my opinion that AI cannot learn style. It’s so frustrating with all these “fashion tech” start ups touting the ease they can bring styling oneself which is just utter crap
