Just wanted to tell you I revisited this post a few weeks ago because I’d been wanting a new designer bag for a while. I had already bought the Uniqlo bag on your rec and loved it so figured I’d go back to this post for more ideas! I clicked the link to Bergdorf’s for the Alaia bag and there was ONE left in stock and it was VERY discounted.. like so discounted with the accompanying additional 20% off promo they were running that it seemed like a website error! I went back and forth on whether to purchase (because normally I’d never buy a bag this expensive even discounted without seeing it in person) and I decided to take the plunge and order. I’m so glad I did! The bag is a delight, makes all my outfits feel so fresh and cool! Thank you so so so much for the rec, I never wouldve chosen something like this myself (much too standard in my normal bag wardrobe) but I’m going to use this as a lesson to look outside the “safe” shapes for fashion! Thank you!
thoughts on the savette bag? does it seem like it will hold up long enough for you to pass to your grandchildren? it has captured my heart but I'm wary to spend so much on a (basically brand new) brand whose longevity is unknown
Hi! Yes, I am so so happy with the quality. It was the first designer bag I had purchased in a long time and I haven't regretted it yet. I really like that it is a bit hard to place and the colors feel rich and old already. The designer came from a few major brands before she launched her own so I knew she knew what she was doing when she started the line. Definitely has my stamp of approval. (Not at all sponsored (if you were nervous about that), I bought this bag!!)
Two months later I am here to say I GOT THE BAG! In coffee suede, especially perfect for fall, and so, so lovely. I took it with me on errands today and it just made my outfit feel fully, elegantly realized. Thanks so much for your response, it was just that extra little boost that got me here.
