I would love a perfect striped tee reminiscent of loose leaf paper

To adapt Pogo's well known compliment: Good looking woman look good no matter what she throw on! I stopped reading and went straight to Thredup to find striped tops, and I must be forty years older than you are.

I’ve been wearing this striped one from H&M all summer and the fabric is so surprisingly nice and still in stock!

Now I feel cool that I paired a striped tee with a pair of boldly patterned shorts a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised how the shorts toned down the strength of the t-shirt and made it look like the neutral piece. I also love stripes and florals together!

There are some great linen Marni skirts on resale. I would get this one if I had a smaller waist:

My ongoing wardrobe battle for dominance is between the striped shirt and the grey tee (currently wearing the grey tee) so this post really got me. Thanks for the great suggestions!

Stripe tee addict here. Reading this in VERTiCAL stripes (blouse but still) which really felt like breaking the mold for me but you’ve inspired me to dig a little deeper with some pattern mixing!

I'm so glad you included the Imogene & Willie shirt as it is exactly what I've searching for, plus, I added a bandana, baseball cap, and 2 other shirts (one at sale price, thank goodness). I went one size up on the shirts and I hope that was the right call. It can be so difficult deciding on a size when placing a first order.

Let us know how the fit is, I agree size up!

Love my Imogene & Willie order and going up one size gives the perfect ease that Becky shows for the novel knit indigo stripe and cotton hemp tee in midnight. The "plus" tee in fatigue brown is a relaxed fit so I did not size up and it's perfect. The size guides seem to be spot on and the quality is outstanding, too. The Ebbets Field 8 panel twill plus cap is pricey, but definitely worth it. They have the same design in wool that is less $$ and I may need that for the cold WI weather 🙃

Did you size up in your NL tee? Or is it oversized already in usual size? Thx!

I like wearing a vertically striped shirt over a horizontally striped T.

I love striped tees on others and absolutely despise them on me (in short, I contain multitudes)

Q: do you wear the JCrew sheer slip dress with just the spanx boy shorts out in real life? That’s my favorite outfit of the ones you posted today. And I love all the beautiful sheer dresses out right now, but I don’t know I have it in me to wear without a proper slip. And then, does that look too frumpy? Ruin point of sheer? I’m in an area of the U.S. where people tend to dress more a little more conservatively.

I certainly do! I wear everything in the newsletter out in real life. I hope this to be a helpful guide for real world dressing without losing the fun!! Try with a black camisole and bodysuit with the boy shorts. That way you limit midriff. You would be surprised how little leg you actually see.
