Hi Becky, I really enjoy your fashion blog. Yours is really the only one I ever read. There is something special, kind, accessible, warm, and fun about your approach and conversational style. Thank you for making fashion fun for me, a 56-year-old woman from Oakland, California, who never really thought about fashion before.

re: another black pajama pant alt - I got the high hopes from AYR and have taken them on every trip in the last 6 months - one of those ‘random” items that attracts more compliments than I’d ever expect!

GENIUS!! The black pajama pants.. thank you Becky & Taylor!

I love the highly personal post! So much fun 🤩

This is extremely interesting and inspiring! I love how you pair the same items differently, especially that Donni sweatshirt. I would not think to do that but you did it beautifully (and that’s why I don’t work in fashion and need the nudge).

And that Kallmeyer leather jacket may be the platonic ideal. I tried wearing a biker jacket last year and had to accept that all that hardware was not for me.

The hardware is tough, I agree...no pun intended!

Oh my goodness that Versace jacket!!!! If that’s what you bought I don’t blame you. Loved this post… a favor to ask?! When you do trenches, can you seek out a hood?! I don’t like to carry an umbrella and love a raincoat with a hood but want something sharper than the Jott and the Swedish one that I have . Thanks!!

I already know the one. Stay tuned!!! :)

These are all such fun outfits and you certainly have shown me how to style my wardrobe differently, and better. I literally gasped when I saw your IG yesterday and the Chanel jacket with the collar sewn in!!!! I mean that is just wow. I can't wear that green color but it looks great on you. Love your Bally jacket and I guess I am pleased with myself since I just bought a great leather jacket from TRR for Spring and Fall. Dare I say, there is a strong 70's vibe coming through many of these looks? Esp. the Versace blouse and coat! Love it!!

Welcome home! That patent Chanel moc is the perfect “hoof” for a rainy Spring & I’m sorry it was available for mere seconds (!) Emily Bode’s house shoe is a similar shape & my personal hoof .. but I’m not sure it’s been done in patent. Anyway. Great silhouette.. Donni sweatshirts & boxy leather jackets forever & great transitional combo for our 40-65 (Fahrenheit..but could as well stand in for years old) days xo

I love that Bode shoe too!! I agree it is super similar. And then at the end of the day, they are all inspired by a mens tuxedo slipper! If you can wear mens sizing, I always say to get that! I sadly don't make the cut as a women's 8. Sigh.

Or like an opera shoe.. the silhouette I love in the Chanel that looks so fresh to my eye is the “no 👅 “

🐎it’s so great & I love that you are wearing non-stop.. it just looks so perfect 👌🏼

That vintage YSL skirt is a dream! Perfect advice, Becky, per usual.

Love this post, so many great styling ideas! Love the tip on the black PJ pants. And I agree that we are all going to be leather jacket people this spring. Finally, I’m so happy to see you wearing those Row ankle boots, I debated/agonized over these before finally hitting buy and this post helps me feel more justified ❤️

I LOVE them. Enjoy!

Lime is chronically underrated and double bravo for it being Chanel. What did you think of Victoria Beckham's show? And Simone Rocha's showroom? Her London flagship store is a little treasure trove and everything you would expect from her, from the people employed FOH to the way shoes face outward from the walls

Yes to back pajama pants! Calder sweats by Tibi do a similar job - but I wouldn't want to sleep in them so maybe not as efficient. I learned my lesson when I was putting my room service tray out in the hallway and got locked out of my room in only my bathrobe! I was running late for a spot on a morning show and had to go down to the lobby.... ugh. Thanks for reminding me of my days covering the shows. So fun, so stressful!

There are so many wearable outfits in this one; I really loved the looks you chose!! I'll also be re-reading the post about leather jackets--you're right; it's time to revisit them!

Apologies, I have a very basic (but important!) question: what style are your perfect Levi’s?

Expand full comment

hi! they were this random slim straight pair I bought online a year ago that was made from their "japanese denim" For some reason the Levis site often drops gems that are kind of hidden on the site. I don't see them there now but I'm sure they'll be back. I always search on their site with the filters: Straight Leg and NO Stretch and thats how I found them! Ill ping you if I see them again!

Thank you so much. They look like my platonic jeans dream (though fully aware that might be because of how they look on you!) so I will do some hunting 🕵🏻‍♀️

Please share your packing style? I’m looking for tips/inspo. I travel weekly for work and am loathe to check, but want to see how others pack.

Expand full comment

Well, this trip I did not pack light. Some days was thankful for that, other days regretted it deeply. I will do a post on my mental processes in packing for work. There is a lot of prep! :)
