Can’t wait for your upcoming post on skirts… I have quite suddenly done a 180 and become totally obsessed with them. I now have a mega midi-skirt save on TRR with all my favorite brands and have been checking it every morning. Bye bye pants!

Me too! I still can’t get my ahead around dresses but I’m starting to figure out midi skirts specifically as a plausible pants replacement!!

It’s becoming a pulling of a thread though… because now I think I need brown riding boots to execute my vision of all these hypothetical midi skirts… 😭 🐁 🍪

I saw this video of Ilana Glazer in a brown suit the other day and I can't. get.it.out.of.my.mind!

I am formerly a black wearing gal from my days of selling real estate but it is not part of my repertoire any longer due to age and graying hair...(plus I don't think it was ever my color since I am a pale Celt)! But bring on the brown; I am slowly incorporating it into my everyday wardrobe and so very happy to see this newsletter. Love brown and pastels together! I don't need a suit but might need a brown blazer; v intrigued by the HommeGirls one but the logo....

I also am in doubt about the HommeGirls blazer because of the logo! The little gold Hg on the front is cute and quirky, but not sure if that's the look I'm going for. Plus, why highlight the label stitched on the sleeve? Isn't that meant to be snipped off before one wears the blazer? Please correct me if I'm wrong!

OK, yes the logo is not going to be for everyone. But I actually love the logo on this one because its in a classic custom shirt embroidery location, a nod to old school mens tailoring. AND it's not a common brand that screams "designer." For all anyone knows those could be your initials. It would look much less cool if it was an LV or double C, in my opinion. And definitely snip that tag off the sleeve. That is just a cute little marketing thing for the sales floor. :)

Thanks a million, Becky, for clarifying all of this! You're the best!

Love the shape but super weird about the label on sleeve!!

I bought a pair of brown Norma Kamali pants for work and wore them for the first time last night! Have struggled with how to wear them to work and this is so helpful. Thank you Becky!!

This couldn't be more timely! I'll be back in the office next month after five years of working from home. It will be a major shift but I'm looking forward to rebuilding my wardrobe for work. The pink Sportmax pants from January's newsletter were my first purchase and the fit is top notch! Excited to pair them with brown :) Thank you Becky!

I was wondering about the comfort level of the saint Laurent boots as well!

If your foot is narrow, they are amazing. But they are definitely slim.

I bought that pale blue Sunspel sweater in their January sale but I had to send it back because it was too itchy, even though I loved the color. I’m fine with most wool, but something about me and mohair…

How do you find the comfort level of those Saint Laurent boots for someone who isn’t used to wearing heels? They’re so nice.

If you have a narrow foot they are great great great. I have a narrow foot and I love how well they hold me. I can wear them for like a half day or an evening and be fine. They are not a walk 10k steps boot but they are definitely a walk 3k steps boot. :)

FWIW it is so lightweight and the color is soo good!

I fell in love with the sweater at their store and bought it on sale but it is definitely itchy. It's a layering piece for sure. I wear flannel under it!

I was thinking about trying to make it work with layering but I decided to let it go and I have some regrets lol.

I don’t need or want a suit, but I did recently add brown “leather” pants and a matching sweater. Same impact. Works fabulous together and each piece will work on its own

On a side note, anyone have a recommendation for a long sleeve silk tee ?

Thank for the recommendation. Must be out of stock right now because I don’t see it on their site, but I’ll keep checking back.

Buck Mason makes a good one but size up; runs very small.

I have sooo many solid colored blazers and jackets so I thought the Rachel Comey would be a nice add to my wardrobe. I am a 6-8 most of the time so I ordered the 6 and it positively swims on me, darn it. And they are now sold out in the small sizes. RATS!

Hi! Great post. Which tailor do you use or recommend? So hard to trust someone with a suit! Thanks Lara

I go to Mak’s Hong Kong on 82/Lex and would trust them with ANYTHING. I always say take something simple or old to a tailor first to test them out.
