Thanks for sharing! There are a lot of good ideas. But I will say, I live in a very hot and humid climate (Houston. It sucks), and I’ve eradicated all polyester, viscose, rayon, etc. from my wardrobe. Yes, even the blends. Linen has become my go-to material, followed by organic cotton which is moisture-wicking.
I love all your finds! The posse shirts are lovely. I got excited when I saw you say “priced just right to sweat in” so I clicked on over and saw … $230. Is that considered a good price these days? For me that’s major splurge.
For me, if it’s something that’s a natural fiber that I can absolutely live in, will stand up to washing then it’s a price I can stand. Unfortunately, well made natural fibers are expensive these days.
The Co shorts she linked at $595 are a very serious splurge but one I’m considering because they are all the things I just said and they would fill a very very significant hole in my closet (and I live somewhere where I would like to wear shorts 5 months out of the year). I can’t find shorts that suit my body type at all and these look like they might do the trick
It’s pretty clear Becky writes for the demographic that can casually drop 3 figures on clothing - that is the lens through which you should read her newsletter
You’re right! I do understand that most of her reccomendations are out of my price range- I just thought bc it said “priced to sweat in” it’d be a tad more affordable! Regardless, I do enjoy her newsletter and seeing what she shares.
To be clear, my original comment was not shade toward the specific demographic, nor anyone that cannot afford it (I'm in the latter). People of all levels of wealth can read Becky's content and gain insight, advice, inspiration. As far as actually purchasing the specific items she recommends - her personal brand and her literal business of styling clients are able to afford the best of the best that a global city like New York has to offer. If one is looking for reasonable prices by more mid-America standards, there's plenty of other fashion substacks that provide that niche.
In a prescient move, I have embraced the big white short.. having found a hUGE pair by the ROW on resale… never has anything looked less flattering & been worn so relentlessly 🙈🙈🙈
Thank you for bringing up this subject....I HATE when things need to be "flattering" what even is flattering!? Comfort and confidence are so much more important! (says the girl who basically hates flattering clothes, LOL)
Haha Becky! Good point. Flattering to me is shown via colors, style and proportion and age appropriate. I am still trying to feel good wearing longer shorts; lots of sun damage on my wheels from hiking and long distance cycling back in the day. Wish we had known about sunscreen back when!
Did wayyyyyyyyy too much shopping on this post! Lots of great investment pieces (Posse and Sea NY dress in blueberry (search google)) and since summer seems to bleed into fall (at least out here in LA) I know these clothes will get lots of wear. Thanks as always Becky!
Very into these looks, and no surprise, they’re perfect for sultry city sidewalks. Gap is really proving to be a wardrobe filler these days, in the best way possible. Love those cargo shorts on you.
Hey Becky! Just wanted to toss out a post idea...I'd be interested to have an issue on wardrobe maintenance and storage. Not the most exciting topic, I know, but something I'd like to get better at :)
Love the embroidered tank & crinkly fabrics. I was in NYC a few days ago and was BEYOND BLESSED to be there on a day that was well below 50% humidity. Changed everything for me (dressing-wise). Loved this, xo.
That last dress reminds me of the witchy broomstick crinkle skirts of the 90’s, I wonder if we can bring those back in the name of suitably Too Hot To Touch dressing too.
First of all, thank goodness for Becky, and how I look forward to Sundays and ideas generated by a human for human bodies. Second, I'm thrilled to have nailed the "big white shorts" during clearance at J. Crew end of last summer. All their stuff runs at least a size big. Great to have all these styling options!
OMG WOWOWOWOWOWOW these shorts!!!!! I'm very tempted even though I've already bought two pair of big white shorts this summer??? Will link to them in next week as a suggestion, thanks for sharing! <3

Look out for COS. They have quite normal prices for natural fiber clothing.

Ha! Yes. These shorts look beautiful from my vantage point..& I’m unrecognizable in my reflection. It’s so incognito

Glad to hear! I am struggling with white shorts and length on my age of legs. 🤣😘

Everything I want to wear right now Becky!! I sometimes find Doen a little too sweet to wear, but you nailed it.

So many ideas here!
What size did you take in the Saint art dress?
XS bc I have narrow shoulders.
Fantastic edit as always. Nailed it. Cannot wait for more on white shorts. My absolute fav and I have several in rotation. By far my my most worn are my Hilda shorts from Cawley Studio https://cawleystudio.com/collections/made-to-order-1/products/japanese-cotton-pleated-hilda-shorts?variant=51244193349898

Hi! I think the link to the black cotton skirt goes to the voile button down instead. I'm dying to see what you meant to link-your skirt is perfect!
My daughter is moving to nyc this week, while visiting any non tourist cafes to recommend? I am staying in Greenwich village ?
