YAY YAY YAY love this, the pieces, the places, and all the invaluable tips. Yesterday I wore a backless dress I never would have worn with the combo of a pink bra and a racerback tank under --- and loved. As I write this note I am in a sheer ball skirt (Tibi) and I have my husband's (floral!) shirt tucked into it, covering me. With a boy short for added confidence underneath. Thanks to you, I can't wait to get out my slip dresses and play around under stuff! And yesterday I was in a marketplace of LatinX designers and fell in love with a long Pima cotton vest with side ties. Now I will go back and pick this up and wear with a slip dress -- ala Prada you featured. XO Happy Sunday and thank you.
I'm not opposed to sheer, but I like to wear classic pieces. I find these too trendy for my closet. Thank you for your article though. It's nice to see what's out there for ideas.
Yes, that is a good perspective. I'll have to try something out next time I go shopping! I'm in the middle of a closet purge project now, so I will be looking soon :)
I want to give a shout out to Doen's no-lace slips. Lots of options in basic colors and there is a brown! They feel great on. I've had some shrinking so they need careful washing!
I bought a Ven Store skirt (a brand you taught me about) that arrived yesterday and definitely needs a slip. Had it on my list to research today and here you are!! Amazing! Also reminding me that I have a gorgeous sheer shirts from JP Gaultier and Maria Pinto that should come back into rotation. They felt too young for me but this is the encouragement I needed- What FUN!!
I am warming up to sheer... but one of the tricks I notice is having some very interesting bras, usually in bright colors or good neutrals and often with an interesting strap - something with lace or edging details. So the glimpse of color or strap is its own moment. I have not found a lot of options yet - a search for a neon colored bra with great straps (to go with my wardrobe of black) was not productive. As you have shown, undergarments can now be accents, so I will keep searching!
So many wonderful tips - thank you, Becky! Would you ever consider doing a write up on your favorite jewelry pieces? :)
In the works!!
So excited for this - thank you so, so much!

I second your opinion, Belinda!

would love something like the mango skirt in a pant - if anyone has recs for sheer pants (built in shorts are a plus!) please do share 🤞🏼
I really really really like the back party.
🤣
Some really creative solutions, thank you!
Simply gorgeous!~

LOL. Personal preference! I'm a Gemini, must mutate into the crowd. :)
