OK, THIS! "I get lots of questions about which “dupes” I like, and the reason why I do not endorse “dupes” is not because they are a similar product, but because many companies MARKET them as a copy. High Sport is a teensy FEMALE FOUNDED company and I get really upset when huge companies take advantage of women who are doing awesome things! So, definitely buy whichever kick flare fits your budget and know that they are mostly all great. But when companies market to you as a literal copy, think twice. It’s icky. :) And there are plenty of alts!"

I wrote about dupes, and I feel so fucking heard right now. Cheering. THERE ARE PLENTY OF ALTS. Have to stop calling things dupes. And all these sites with the dupes that we feel are harmless are buying the search term "high sport" -- gives me the icks.

I love this post, so many great outfits! I bit the bullet and am absolutely in heart with my High Sport kick flares and am now even more so now knowing they are a tiny company run by ladies <3

I really struggle with the proportions of a loose/boxy/unfitted/whatever adjective top and looser pants. Visually, It just feels so sloppy or unconsidered to me. I think most of this comes from being short and small in stature myself. I’m going to challenge myself with this though!

Also, for any Midwesterners, the flannel SCREAMS Kohls to me so that’s where I’m going to be headed to browse! With my mom’s Kohl’s Cash 😆

I’m beginning to realize I rarely reach for a sweater unless it’s a cardigan! Just don’t feel like putting something over my head. Cardigans are so much easier to throw on and throw off, should the need arise. Flannel shirts are obviously good in this scenario as well!

I'm so happy I can keep wearing mini skirts and tights a little while longer - I just found the courage to do so a couple months ago. I figured out a way to look fun and chic without trying to look too young. It's such a wonderful, comfortable feeling for me, one of the first stepping out of my comfort zone! Loved this read, thank you!

Love the reference to Miss Congeniality and April 25th. Hard to find the correct layering for that time of year.

Flannels are so underrated. The styling possibilities, as you demonstrated, are endless!

Broke out my flannel today - perfect spring weather shirt - this is why I love you!! Always think of it as my “camping shirt” now but I was a teenager in the 90s. My outfit today is my high school uniform - loose jeans, tight tank top and a flannel - I did add some pretty floral-esque jewelry so it wasn’t total 90s cosplay - and in the 90s I would have worn doc marten combat boots - today I have on a pair of boat shoes. Love your newsletter so much!

Becky, Becky, Becky how I love your fashion view this week! I have had that RL flannel on my radar since you first appeared in it. I have two closed brand cotton denim shirts that I wear as jackets in warmer weather. Celtic aging skin here and modest so it makes me feel comfortable and fashionable.

FWIW I tried on the High Sports in lavender at a local boutique and fell head over heels in love. I am 67 and basically fit but they are so damn good. I will be purging a lot of other lesser pants to encourage wearing of these. The Gingham ones are also calling me! 🙈💰💃😘

I have that FDL shirt in both beige and navy and have been wearing it *nonstop* - thank you for the ton of styling ideas!! Totally agree re “dupes”. The High Sport alternative I like the best (the Mashburn Faye, fwiw, which I wear more than my High Sports; to each her own stretch pant) came out *before* the HS version I believe.

This whole post is a delight and reminds me that I still dunno what the lyrics of Squeeze’s TEMPTED meant - “a flannel for my face.”

I love this!! My uniform the last two weeks has included a shirt with that same size and structure but wide wale light blue corduroy. I’m tired of sweaters too!

Sweater fatigue here as well! I found a way through: double long sleeves t-shirts!! The first layer is the Edie from Skall, as a base, in white, and the second layer is a long sleeve t-shirt from Arket, also white, but oversized with wide cuffs! It feels like Spring

LOVE your comment about dupes and so agree!

You know what I've been admiring from afar? God's True Cashmere. It's out of my budget, but I feel like I would wear it all the time if I bought one and make the cost/wear worth it.

Becky, did you really wear the cream-colored Vince satin pants to a kids event?? They seem too delicate to me…I’m too nervous to wear light-colored or non-durable fabrics around my kids.
